LYDIA YATES

I am an actor, singer, director and storyteller from Lexington, Kentucky! I am currently based in Birmingham, Alabama.

My greatest joy is to tell stories that instill the idea of being a part of something greater than ourselves. Theatre is a wonderful representation and outlet for the human condition, and I believe storytelling makes us more compassionate, empathetic, and self-aware people. Theatre helps humans engage with their emotional selves collectively. It serves as a reminder that we are never alone in our humanness.

 

As a teaching artist and director, it is my goal to inspire creativity, compassion, and confidence in others. I believe every artist has a unique voice. I long for young artists not only to be able to identify their voice, but to be proud of it.
